Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 November 2026. Applies to the RepeatLast website, the RepeatLast host app (macOS and Windows), the RepeatLast desktop client (macOS and Windows) and the RepeatLast iPhone and iPad app.Who we areRepeatLast is made by Sylvester Zimsen, Denmark. Questions about privacy: [email protected].The short versionRepeatLast runs on your own computers. Audio, replay files and transcripts stay on your machine and your local network. We do not receive, collect or store them. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking in any of our apps or on this website.Audio and transcriptsThe host app records talkback audio and may transcribe it. Recordings, replay cache and transcripts are stored locally on the computer running the host. Transcription runs on that computer, either with Whisper or with Apple Speech. The desktop client and the iPhone and iPad app send your voice only while you hold the talk button, and only to your own RepeatLast host on your network. You (the person or company running the host) are the data controller for recordings of other people and are responsible for informing them, as set out in the licence agreement.Network accessIf you turn on the built-in web server, audio and transcripts are available to devices that connect to your host. Use the optional password and secure your network. The desktop client and the iPhone and iPad app use the local network to find and connect to your host (Bonjour). The iPhone and iPad app asks for microphone and local network permission for this; it keeps its settings on the device and nothing else. What leaves your computerLicence activation: when you activate a licence, the app sends your licence key and an identifier derived from your computer to our licensing provider, Keygen (keygen.sh), so that the licence can be tied to your machine and checked while it is valid. The app also checks in with Keygen from time to time.Internet address: when the web server is on, the host asks api.ipify.org for its public IP address so it can show you an internet address. That service sees the IP address of your connection.Speech models: when you download a Whisper model, it is fetched from huggingface.co, which sees your IP address. When you open the Models tab in Settings, the app also asks huggingface.co for a list of community models. The words you type in the search field are sent along, and Hugging Face sees your IP address. The default list is saved on your computer so that it can be shown offline. Nothing about your show, recordings or transcripts is sent.Update check: the host and the desktop client can ask api.github.com for the newest release of RepeatLast when you choose Check for Updates in the menu. The host also does this once, a few seconds after it starts, when it is online; you can turn that off in Settings (Check for updates on startup). GitHub sees your IP address and the app name. Nothing is downloaded or installed by the app, and no information about you or your show is sent.Buying a licencePurchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller (merchant of record). They process your payment and billing details under their own privacy policy; we never see your card details. We receive your name, email address and order details so that we can issue your licence. The licence key is created in Keygen and emailed to you from [email protected] through our email provider, Resend. How long we keep itLicence and order records are kept while your licence is valid and for as long as accounting law requires afterwards. We keep nothing else about you. This websiteThis website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking. It is hosted by Carrd, which may keep ordinary server logs. Links to the shop, GitHub (downloads) and Discord take you to those services, which have their own policies.Your rightsUnder the GDPR you may ask us for access to, correction of or deletion of the personal data we hold about you (your licence and order details), and you may object to its processing. Write to [email protected]. You may also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), datatilsynet.dk.ChangesIf this policy changes, the date above will change with it.This product is in active development.
